Share your ideas for Free/Cheap fun
Ann's last post got me thinking. what kind of fun things can we do that's either cheap or free. If you have any ideas or hear about a free/cheap activity in our community, or a free cheap idea that we can implement here (or anywhere) please share it, because we can all do with a little cheap and easy fun- and David, not the kind that gets you in trouble!

Here are a few ideas-
1. a game night at your house. ANY game will work- you can even invite people to bring a game/games. This is a cheap event but not free b/c you usually need to provide food. Try buying 1 bag of something and 1 bottle of something and ask everyone who comes to do the same and it can be really cheap.
2. A movie night- the same idea only ask someone to bring a movie, get on from the library or off your T.V. provide 1 bag/1 bottle and ask every one to do the same.
3. Work and event to make it free. Our local college allows you to see any play free on a night that you usher it. Other places must do the same thing. Find out what freebies you can get by a little "volunteering" and do something for free.
4. Free food. Write/email your favorite cereal brand, candy bar brand, even juice company and tell them how much you enjoy their products and often they will give you coupons for free products. This doesn't always work, but it's worth a try.
1.Hormel Stock holders meeting the last Tuesday in January. Fun, maybe food this year, and lots of coupons. Fun night(at least for me)
2. Let's walk at the mall.
3. Cross country skiing at the Nature Center has deals for kids this month.
4. St Paul Winter Carnival at the end of this month. Fun in the cold.
1.Dodgeball anyone? Just kidding! But really, why not try to get at couple of groups together to play volleyball/badmitten/basketball, etc. at Church on a weekday night or a Saturday afternoon.
2.The other thing, while not fun for all, is to get together to help eachother out with home projects (painting Bonnie's house last year) and teaching our children (who are old enough) how to fix and take care of what is ours.
3.Get together for dinners and assign out a dish for each family to bring. This way we get to visit and no one is stuck feeding the HORDE!
4.With really small kids-on Friday night we clean the front room and then moved the furniture around to make a HUGE fort that they watch a movie from!
I stayed strong today. I only bought what was on my list and stayed out of Target after a friend let Shawn know that today was Targets 90% off Christmas sale.
I have put our ccs away and we are doing cash/check only this month. I hope you are all doing well too.
